Good evening everyone! Strong to severe storms continue to push across the South Plains this evening bringing small hail, strong winds, and heavy downpours to much of the region. However, the folks located in Gaines, Dawson, Yoakum, Terry, and Lynn counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch that has been issued until 9PM because there is a higher potential for damaging wind gusts, large hail, and an isolated tornado threat. These storm chances will continue through early Friday morning. Please watch for flooding across the entire region and remember to turn around, don’t drown.

As storm chances clear out tomorrow morning, high temperatures will be given the chance to rebound back above average just in time for the holiday weekend.

Over the Easter weekend we are expecting lots of sunshine but with ample moisture continuing to reside over the region, we will continue to watch for potential pop up storms through the beginning of next week.
