Good evening everyone! The dryline that was set up over Eastern New Mexico earlier today has begun to shift to the east, allowing for the development of strong to severe thunderstorms across the South Plains tonight. Any storms that do develop in the region this evening will bring the chance for large hail and damaging wind gusts. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Western South Plains under the slight risk category this evening so make sure to stay weather aware. Storms will continue into the early overnight hours but should clear the region by early morning. Cloud cover will decrease by Saturday afternoon, allowing for a rapid warm up and a pleasant afternoon. We will keep an isolated chance of storms in for Saturday.

Easter Sunday will be another potential severe weather day with the dryline still set up over the eastern portions of the region and the arrival of a cold front early Sunday morning. This will bring another chance for storms and potentially severe weather for the holiday. Right now storm chances will be highest for the eastern and southern counties.
