August 11th, 2016 Evening Forecast

Happy Thursday everyone! We have a slightly drier day ahead with temperatures expected to reach into the upper 90’s.  This is due to the fact that the upper level ridge sitting over East Texas is pinching the subtropical moisture plume that is trying to move into the region from the remnants of Javier.  It looks like our best chance for rain will come Friday night through Sunday with heavy downpours expected and therefore a chance for flooding across the South Plains.  Make sure to drive with caution this weekend and remember to turn around, don’t drown! Thankfully, with all the rain expected this weekend there will also be a significant cool down with highs dropping into the low to mid-80’s starting Saturday and continuing throughout much of next week! Enjoy!
