Good evening everyone! We have a beautiful, sunny, and hot week ahead with temperatures sitting in the upper 90’s through Saturday. This is due to the fact that the ridge will be sitting over the region for the next week allowing high pressure to dictate the forecast. There will be a very slight chance for a few isolated storms to make their way into the South Plains over the next few afternoons but they will be short-lived storms. The important thing to remember this week is to stay sun safe – wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, don’t forget about your pets! Make sure that they are hydrated and that you check the pavement to ensure that it isn’t too hot!
