Happy Monday everyone! The start of this week’s weather will be dictated by the low pressure system sitting over New Mexico. It will allow moisture to be pumped into our region bringing more showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and into this evening. Shower and thunderstorm chances will continue through mid-week and start to taper off by the weekend. Flooding will be a major concern in the South Plains over the next few days so please drive with caution and if you see pooling water, turn around, don’t drown!

We are expecting below average temperatures throughout the last few days of August and to start out the month of September. However, as the rain chances diminish, temperatures will move back to average just in time for the weekend. Models indicate more sunshine in the forecast for your Labor Day weekend with just a slight rain chance on Saturday.
