Happy Tuesday everyone! Just like yesterday, showers and thunderstorms will be abundant across the South Plains today and are expected to continue into tomorrow with rainfall totals ranging from 1-2 inches in some locations. This means that flooding will be an issue yet again so if you see pooling water, turn around, don’t drown! Strong storms are possible due to a small amount of instability across the region so make sure to stay weather aware. Rain chances will continue but diminish throughout the remainder of the week which will keep our temperatures below average through Friday. The warming trend is expected to push us back to average over the weekend, making it warm and slightly muggy for the Texas Tech home opener. Clear and sunny conditions will take over on Sunday and for your Labor Day. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
