Happy Monday everyone! It have been a very overcast day across the South Plains with a rain/snow mix falling throughout the day. With a second cold front expected to push across the region later tonight, the wintry precipitation will continue this evening through much of the day on Tuesday. Expect a mix of rain, sleet, freezing rain, and snow just like today, but we will see the potential for snow to stick across many portions of West Texas. Snow totals are expected to be between 1-3″ with the heaviest snowfall amounts remaining in the western South Plains. Make sure to drive with caution and leave with plenty of time to spare to insure that you can get to where you need to go safely. Starting Wednesday conditions will clear out, abundant sunshine will return, and temperatures will heat up, moving back into the mid-50’s Wednesday afternoon and then into the low 70’s by Friday. Our next chance for precipitation after tomorrow will return Saturday night into Sunday morning, but will be in the form of liquid rain.
