Happy Thursday everyone! It has been another warm and sunny day across the South Plains but we have lots of changes in our near future. A low pressure system is expected to track across the region starting tomorrow through Sunday bringing freezing rain, sleet, and rain to the South Plains. The freezing rain and sleet will begin tomorrow morning and continue on and off through Saturday. This means that roadways will be slick so take your time to get to where you need to go safely. As we move into Sunday all precipitation turns to rain and it will be heavy at times. Rain totals will get up to 2″+ across portions of the region so flooding will be an issue throughout the weekend. Remember turn around, don’t drown. Next week things will die down and we will see sunny and warm conditions.
