Happy Thursday everyone! It has been another hot day across the South Plains, but temperatures are already starting to cool off for some folks as a weak front is slowly pushing across the region. Right now it is located along the Silverton, Kress, and Littlefield line. It will continue to bring us pop up showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening hours. Unfortunately the Storm Prediction Center has us under the Slight Risk Category for severe storms with large hail and damaging winds 60+MPH as the biggest threats.
The Heat Advisory will continue until 8PM this evening and then we will see a well deserved cool down for your Friday, the weekend, and even the beginning of next week. Tomorrow we will watch for the possibility of more storms but they won’t arrive until later in the evening hours. After that your weekend and next week will be dry and sunny.
