Happy Monday everyone! It has been a hot start to the work week but afternoon showers and thunderstorms will start to cool things off for some folks.  This is due to the fact that the high pressure system that sat over our region for the past week has moved off to the west.  It looks like we will see the most widespread activity across the South Plains late this evening and overnight into tomorrow morning. Temperatures will be slightly cooler tomorrow and for the remainder of the work week with lows in the upper 60’s and low 70’s and highs sitting just above average in the mid-90’s. Storm chances will continue to bump up during the afternoon and evening hours this week so keep your umbrellas handy. At this point the Storm Prediction Center has not put Texas in any severe weather categories.
