Good evening everyone! We have had a gorgeous Fourth of July with temperatures reaching 102 degrees and lots of sunshine! The hot temperatures will stick around for the remainder of the work week with triple digits expected Tuesday through Thursday. Tomorrow highs are expected to get to 104 degrees and this would match the record from 1971. The folks located in Lea, Gaines, Dawson, Borden, and Scurry counties are under a Heat Advisory until 7PM Tuesday evening. Heat indices are expected to be 110+ degrees so make sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a slight chance for storms in the afternoons and evenings. While it will be a hot for much of this work week, we will thankfully see temperatures cool into the low to mid-90’s by this upcoming Sunday and Monday!
