Happy Tuesday everyone! We have had another very hot day across the South Plains with temperatures reaching into the 90’s and the triple digits! The Heat Advisory continues for Lea, Gaines and Dawson counties until 9PM and for Borden and Scurry counties until 7PM this evening. Heat indices are expected to be 105-110+ degrees so make sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. We continue to see storms moving across the region on this Tuesday afternoon. Some of these may be strong bringing small to moderate sized hail and gusty winds at 50+ MPH. Wednesday there will be another slight chance for storms in the afternoons and evening hours. Thursday and Friday we will see a brief break from the pop-up thunderstorms but they will return over the weekend. Temperatures will remain in the triple digits for the next few days and then drop into the upper 90’s by the weekend.
