Good afternoon everyone! We have another hot day on tap for the South Plains with a Heat Advisory for Bailey, Lamb, Cochran, Hockley, Yoakum, and Terry counties until 8PM this evening, for Lea, Curry, and Roosevelt counties until 7PM this evening, and Gaines and Dawson counties until 8PM Thursday evening. Temperatures will range between 105 to 108 degrees so make sure to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. The triple digits will stick around through Friday and make another appearance on Sunday. Otherwise expect highs in the upper 90’s.

The second half of your work week also includes a 10-20% chance of pop up thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours.  Today’s storms are popping up right along the dry line and are moving east. Most folks will see lots of sunshine over the next few days but just like yesterday, a select few will see some of these isolated storms.  Winds will be breezy from the South/Southwest at 10-15 MPH.
