KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
TODAY: The uphill climb of temperatures begins with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 90’s this afternoon. The eastern plains will be warmer, in the upper 90’s, while Lubbock will stay in the low to mid 90’s. Winds will be light out of the SE 5-10 mph. Storm chances are minimal, but day time heating make spark up local light rain.
WORK WEEK AHEAD: Each day this week will be more warm and more dry. Practice heat safety with hydration and sunscreen. NEVER leave a pet or child in a hot car, even for a few minutes! Temperatures will reach the upper 90’s for Lubbock and possible triple digits in our eastern counties by this weekend.
