Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for Thursday, July 27, 2017.
TODAY: Hot temperatures will linger. Expect upper 90’s to 100’s for afternoon highs. Most of the South Plains region will remain dry, with the exception of the North and Northwest portion of our area. Showers are expected again this afternoon for Clovis, Portales and surrounding towns.
TOMORROW: Hot and dry again to end the work week. Expect mid to upper 90’s in the region.
THIS WEEKEND: On Saturday the South Plains will be mostly dry and hot. Temperatures will be a bit cooler in the mid- 90’s. Prefrontal storms are expected to be scattered on Saturday evening. The wet weather will begin on Sunday once a cool front will enter our area. Temperatures will drop into early next week and a 20-30% chance of isolated heavy rainfall is possible.
