KAMC Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for Tuesday August 22, 2017:
TODAY: Warm and humid today with a high of 89 forecast for Lubbock. An approaching cold front will allow clouds to build in this afternoon and cool temperatures down tonight. The cold front will initiate thunderstorms early this afternoon near dinner time. Heavy rain and strong winds are likely (40%) and thunderstorms will be widespread across the South Plains.
TOMORROW: Storms may linger into the morning hours. Overall temperatures will be cooled down from the front, with a forecast high of 83 for Lubbock. Afternoon storms may develop again on Wednesday afternoon, with a 20% chance of rain.
