KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 2.13.19.

TODAY: We have made it to Wednesday! Expect a warm afternoon, with temperatures rising to the upper 60s and low 70s. The forecast for Lubbock is 68°, with low 70s most likely in the western half of the South Plains. The wind will be breezy from the southwest, 15-25 mph. Clouds are moving in from the west and will leave the sky partly cloudy.

TOMORROW: Thursday starts mild, in the low 40s in the morning. A very warm afternoon is ahead for Valentine’s Day, up to 75° in Lubbock. Upper 70s and low 80s are likely east of the Caprock. But, winds will also pick up, sustained 20-30 mph. For date night, temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s near dinner time.

THIS WEEK: Through at least Saturday, increased fire weather conditions are expected. This means the weather will be favorable for rapid fire development, so do your part in preventing wildfires! The next cool down is in sight, Sunday through Tuesday we will see decreasing temperatures.
