KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 2.19.19.
TODAY: A cold winter day is in store, with some spots likely to stay below freezing. The forecast for Lubbock is 32 degrees, with highs across the region in the upper 20s and low 30s today. There is a low chance (20%) of wintry precipitation today, either in the form of flurries or freezing drizzle. Icing is more likely east of the Caprock and snow is the more likely type for Lubbock and the Caprock. Accumulations will be minimal, but roads may become icy, so drive safely in these conditions.
TOMORROW: A cold start on Wednesday, in the 20s, will be met with sunshine and 50s in the afternoon. The winds will pick up from the west, 10-20 mph making it feel chilly outside.
LOOKING AHEAD: Warmer conditions are expected to wrap up the week, with highs back to the 60s. 50s and 60s are likely this weekend and into next week.
