KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 2.20.18.
TODAY: The winds have calmed down, the sun is out, and temperatures will rise above average today. The forecast is 70 degrees in Lubbock today. Winds will be out of the west 10-15 mph. A cold front backs in to the South Plains from the northeast tonight and temperatures drop to the 20s overnight. More clouds build in overnight as well.
TOMORROW: The cold air will keep temperatures in the low 30s for highs on Wednesday. The forecast is 33 degrees in Lubbock. There is a 30% chance of light precipitation Wednesday morning through early afternoon. With temperatures hovering at or below freezing, we expect freezing rain or sleet to fall. Accumulations will be light, but travel may become hazardous if ice accumulates on roadways.
