A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in place for Lubbock, Crosby, Dickens, King, Floyd, Motley, Cottle, Briscoe, Hall, Terry, Lynn, Garza, Kent, Gaines, Dawson, Borden, and Scurry counties until 6 pm tonight. Periods of sleet are expected with accumulations less than 0.10″. Travel may become hazardous and icy.

TODAY: The greatest chance for sleet and a wintry mix of precipitation will be this morning through lunchtime, and tapering off by dinner. Accumulations will be especially light in Lubbock as the bulk of the precipitation will be south and east. Temperatures will be below freezing for everyone today and the forecast for Lubbock is 30 degrees. We stay cloudy overnight and temperatures drop to the mid 20s.

TOMORROW: There should be more sunshine Thursday and temperatures will rise to the 40s and 50s in the South Plains. The forecast for Lubbock is 47 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers east of the caprock in the morning.
