KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 2.26.19.
TODAY: A very warm day is ahead, with temperature climbing over 10 degrees above average in Lubbock. The forecast high today for the Hub City is 74°. Areas north, like Plainview, will be in the upper 60s and low 70s. The central and southern South Plains will be in the 70s today. Morning clouds will clear out and the afternoon will be sunny with light wind. Tonight temperatures will drop to the low 40s under a partly cloudy sky.
TOMORROW: A battle between a cold front between the panhandle and South Plains will take place through mid-week, leaving a large temperature spread across the region. The north and northeast South Plains will be in the 50s and 60s Wednesday, while Lubbock and the southern half of the region will be in the mid 70s to low 80s. The forecast for Lubbock is 73° tomorrow. The sky will be partly cloudy and wind will be light.
THIS WEEK: Warmer than average weather continues through Friday, which will be the warmest day of the week. Then Friday night into Saturday morning a strong cold front sweeps through the region and cools us down to the 40s this weekend.
