KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 2.6.19.

TODAY: A WIND ADVISORY has been issued for Bailey, Briscoe, Castro, Cochran, Floyd, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Parmer, Swisher, Terry, and Yoakum counties in Texas and northern Lea, Roosevelt, and Curry counties in New Mexico. The advisory is for winds sustained at 30 mph and gusting to 55 mph this afternoon. This may cause reduced visibility due to blowing dust. Also fire weather will be elevated today, so do your part to prevent wildfires. Temperature will still range from 10-15 degrees above average, up to 72° in Lubbock. The sky will be clearing today from overcast conditions this morning to full sunshine this evening.

TOMORROW: Thursday brings in cooler weather, with a cold front. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 40s and low 50s, up to 50° as this front slowly traverses the South Plains. The sky will be clear and winds will be much lighter. Overnight will be very cold, to the teens for most areas.

LOOKING AHEAD: Friday will be the coolest day of the week, with sunshine and highs in the low 40s. Yikes, what a difference a few days makes! We stay chilly to start the weekend, in the 40s Saturday. But, the weekend ends mild, back to the 60s Sunday with mostly cloudy conditions.
