KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 3.11.19.

TODAY: Low clouds and areas of fog will be stubborn this morning, with a dense fog advisory in place until 1 pm. Temperatures will stay in the low 40s through lunch time, then warm to the upper 40s and low 50s this afternoon. In the early evening, there is a 40% chance of rain and thunder. Another batch of storms are possible overnight, at a 50% chance. Storms today may contain small hail and heavy downpours.

TOMORROW: Tuesday brings another round of showers and thunderstorms, where the South Plains is under a slight risk of severe weather. Morning rain, from Monday night’s storms, are likely, with a lull through the evening. Then, after sunset and overnight, comes the “main event”. The Storm Team is watching a potential strong line of thunderstorms that may bring damaging winds. Earlier in the evening, some storms may contain hail greater than an inch in diameter. Flooding is likely in areas that see heavy rain.

THIS WEEK: Wednesday we see the dry and windy side of this storm system. Expect blowing dust with wind gusts near 60 mph. Then the sky will clear and weather conditions will calm down by Thursday and Friday.
