KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 3.27.18.
TODAY: Rain returns to the South Plains! Today will be overcast, with a 50% chance of rain. Morning and early afternoon sprinkles are possible with very light accumulations. The real rain chance comes after 3 pm as thunderstorms are likely to develop along the Texas and New Mexico state line then propagate east through the region. A few rounds of thunderstorms and showers are possible overnight. Accumulations will be 0.25″ in general, with 0.50″ to 1″ locally. Potential hazards include gusty wind, heavy downpours leading to flooding, and small hail. Temperatures stay cool in the low to mid 60s today.
TOMORROW: A 30% chance of rain remain on Wednesday as our system gradually moves out. Additional accumulations should be less than 0.25″ and the clouds will break up through the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the mid 60s Wednesday afternoon.
