KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 3.6.19.
TODAY: We will start to feel warmer today, after a chilly start in the 20s this morning. Afternoon highs will make it to the upper 50s in the Rolling Plains and the low 60s on the Caprock. The forecast for Lubbock is 60° today. The wind will pick up to about 20 mph this afternoon, out of the southwest. Morning clouds will clear out leaving sunshine later. Tonight will be mild, down to the upper 30s and low 40s.
TOMORROW: Thursday will be the warmest day of the week, with low 80s likely area wide. The forecast for Lubbock is 81° under a partly cloudy sky. Winds will pick up in response to the warming trend, peaking up to 25-30 mph in the early afternoon.
LOOKING AHEAD: Daily weather conditions will be quite variable in the extended outlook! Friday will be slightly cooler than Thursday with more cloud cover. Friday night into Saturday morning a quick batch of showers, with isolated thunderstorms are possible. Saturday will be quite dry and windy, gusting to 40 mph. Then next week, the Storm Team is watching a potential rain making storm. We will keep you advised.
