TODAY: Another very warm day is ahead for the South Plains, about 10 degrees above average for Lubbock. The forecast high is 86° in Lubbock. The sky starts with a thick layer of cirrus clouds, followed by sunshine this afternoon. The winds will pick up this evening when the sky clears.
TOMORROW: Wednesday will be slightly cooler, up to 78° in Lubbock, with low 70s west and low 80s east. The winds will pick up tomorrow, gusting to 40 mph. A few afternoon showers are possible, but will be isolated with minimal rainfall.
LOOKING AHEAD: A cold front arrives Thursday morning, bringing a slight chance of rain in the morning. Then Thursday afternoon will be breezy with upper 60s and low 70s. Then the warm air comes back Friday and into the weekend. Sunday may be near 90 degrees.
