KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 4.24.19.
TODAY: The weather pattern begins to change today. Clouds will begin to break up and clear out and temperatures will begin to rebound. Afternoon highs will be dependent on the amount of sunshine you see today. Areas north, with more sun, will be near 70 degrees. Lubbock is forecast to reach 68° today. The southern zones will be in the low to mid 60s, with cloud cover lingering longer.
TOMORROW: 80s return quickly to the South Plains. Thursday afternoon will reach 80° in Lubbock, with plenty of sunshine. Winds will be slightly breezy in the afternoon, but generally light.
LOOKING AHEAD: The 80s continue through the end of the week, and temperatures climb even more into the weekend. We’ve brought temperatures down slightly for the weekend ahead, but still expect upper 80s Saturday and mid 80s Sunday. Next week is trending warm, with a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday.
