KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 4.25.19.
TODAY: Temperatures will skyrocket today to above average. Plainview will reach a high of 78°, Lubbock will be near 81° and south to Lamesa will be to 84°. The sky will stay sunny throug the afternoon with a few highs clouds this evening. Winds will turn out of the north, becoming slightly breezy today. This wind shift will technically be a cold front, which will only take us back a few degrees come Friday.
TOMORROW: Friday starts in the upper 40s and low 50s. The high for Lubbock will be 78°, which is right on average this time of year. The sky will stay mostly sunny with winds slightly breezy from the south.
THIS WEEKEND: A beautiful sunny weekend is in store with warm temperatures. Saturday will be hot, to the upper 80s and low 90s. Sunday will be a bit cooler, thanks to another weak front. Chance of precipitation remains less than 10% each day.
NEXT WEEK: In the weatherlab, the Storm Team is watching a weather pattern change next week. There is a chance of thunderstorms to develop along an active dryline starting Monday and continuing through the week. This may lead to severe weather. As always, we will keep you advised.
