KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 4.26.19.
TODAY: Today will be seasonable, in the mid 70s. The forecast for Lubbock is 77°. The sky will clear out after morning clouds and isolated rain. This evening, more thunderstorms may develop in eastern New Mexico and drift into the western South Plains.
THIS WEEKEND: Saturday will be very warm with upper 80s and low 90s in the afternoon. The sky will be mostly sunny. A cold front moves in from the northeast in the evening, which may prompt a frew showers in the northeast South Plains. This cold front will take temperatures back to the mid 80s Sunday. The forecast for Lubbock is 86° Sunday.
NEXT WEEK: Into the begginning of next week, a weather pattern change leads to the chance of thunderstorms. Monday and Tuesday appear to be the best chances, with even the possibility of severe weather. There is still a fair amount of uncertainty in the timing and details of this forecast, so for now just stay aware of the possibility. We will keep you advised!
