KAMC HD Storm Team Weather Webcast 5.16.17

TODAY: The dry-line will be on the move later today, pushing east of I-27 by the afternoon. Dry air will mix into the western and central South Plains by the second half of the day resulting in more sunshine for us in Lubbock. However, storms will begin to develop this afternoon off into the Rolling Plains. Some of these storms could become severe, producing large hail, gusty winds, and even a few isolated tornadoes. The wind will also be a factor for us today, especially in the western South Plains where wind advisories will be in place beginning at 3 PM. Wind gusts in these areas could be as high as 50 mph at times resulting in blowing dust.

TONIGHT: Strong/severe storms are still possible off into the Rolling Plains throughout the early night hours, but activity will begin to diminish after midnight. All of us will see gradual clearing with temperatures falling into the low/mid 50s.

TOMORROW: Dry and sunny for all of us tomorrow with breezy conditions and highs in the mid 80s.

Have a great day!
