KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 5.22.18.

TODAY: Temperatures will make it to the upper 70s and low to mid 80s this afternoon. There is a 20% chance of thunderstorms today with the possibility of lightning, and small hail. Timing will be any time after lunch through the late evening. While the severe weather threat remains low, the chance for stronger storms is most likely in eastern New Mexico. If you do not see rain today, expect seasonable temperatures and party cloudy conditions.

TOMORROW: A very similar day is setting up for Wednesday. Expect temperatures in the low to mid 80s and another round of afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely. Again, rain will be hit or miss at a 20% chance. The severe weather threat remains low, but gusty wind and small hail are possible in isolated storms.

THIS WEEK: The end of the week shows a warming and drying trend. Temperatures will skyrocket into Memorial Day weekend into the upper 90s. Make sure to pack sunscreen and wear sunglasses if you are planning any fun holiday weekend activities.
