TODAY: A warm and sunny day is ahead. Temperatures will be climbing to the upper 80s and low 90s this afternoon. Lubbock will reach a high of about 89°. The winds will be slightly breezy today, from the southwest 10-20 mph. The sky will be mostly sunny today. Overnight, there is a 20% chance of rain, with thunderstorms developing after 1 am and continuing into the Thursday morning commute.
TOMORROW: Thursday is a severe weather alert day in the South Plains. After generally weak morning thunderstorms, we will get a break through the afternoon. Temperatures will climb to the mid 80s with a partly cloudy sky. Then in the evening, thunderstorms will develop along a dryline west of Lubbock. These storms will travel east overnight, and may be severe.
LOOKING AHEAD: Then from Friday into the weekend, the weather pattern will be highs in the 80s with a 20-30% chance of thunderstorms in the evening.
