KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 5.4.18.
TODAY: A cold front moved through the area overnight bringing in cooler air behind it. Temperatures will be slightly below average today in the mid to upper 70s. The forecast high for Lubbock is 77 degrees. Wind will be light from the northeast 10-15 mph. Expect mostly sunny conditions today. Overnight temperatures will drop to the upper 40s and low 50s.
THIS WEEKEND: Through the weekend we will be on a warming trend. On Saturday we start cool, for the Cinco De Mayo Parade, in the 60s by 10 am. Then we expect to warm up quickly through the afternoon to the low 80s for highs. Lemonade day is on Saturday, so visit a stand and quench your thirst! The forecast high Saturday in Lubbock is 83 degrees. Winds will be variable from 2-8 mph. On Sunday we expect to be even warmer. The sky should be cloud free with temperatures climbing to the mid to upper 80s. The forecast high is 89 in Lubbock on Sunday afternoon. Winds will be light to breezy, turning southerly from 10-15 mph.
