KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 5.8.18.
TODAY: The 90s continue today. The forecast high for Lubbock is 94 degrees. But, an upper level batch of energy will allow lift for some clouds today and sparse, weak thunderstorm activity between 4 – 9 pm. Overall, there is a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms region wide today, starting northwest and moving southeast through the evening. Accumulations will generally be less than 0.10″ and some storms may have lightning. Overnight we clear up and temperatures will drop to the upper 50s and low 60s.
TOMORROW: The sunshine will reign free on Wednesday with the heat continuing. Expect another day in the mid 90s. The wind should weaken, down to 10-15 mph from the southeast. Make sure to protect yourself from the sun!
