KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 6.12.18.
TODAY: Another hot and summer-like day is ahead! Expect highs in the upper 90s and even some triple digits across the region, with the hotter air south. The forecast high for Lubbock is 99 degrees. The sky will be sunny and wind will be light out of the southeast. In the panhandle, there are storm chances tonight, and some stray showers may move into the far northern South Plains. Lubbock will likely stay dry tonight.
TOMORROW: Temperatures will be a bit cooler tomorrow into the mid 90s. The forecast is 95 in Lubbock, with mostly sunny conditions. Higher humidity sticks around, especially for the morning hours.
LOOKING AHEAD: This week will leave us near or about 5 degrees above average all the way through the weekend. Expect more clouds and perhaps some rain chances Sunday and Monday, with the potential influence from tropical moisture coming into the desert southwest. As this forecast becomes more clear we will reassess the potential for monsoon storms into early next week.
