KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 6.13.18.
TODAY: Morning showers brought rainfall totals over an inch to the northern South Plains. This weakening complex of storms will leave a “boundary” that may reignite thunderstorms later this afternoon. There is a 20% chance of storms today. Temperatures will be cooler than yesterday due to cloud cover and the morning rain. The forecast high is 94 degrees in Lubbock.
TOMORROW: Drier, yet similar temperatures are expected Thursday. We will be about 5 degrees above average in the middle 90s tomorrow. Expect sunshine and light wind from the south 10-15 mph.
LOOKING AHEAD: Tropical moisture! Hurricane Bud, off the Pacific Mexican coast, will track into the desert southwest this weekend as a tropical depression. The progression of this moisture will give us rain chances Sunday into Monday, and watching for Tuesday as well. Rainfall could reach up to an inch in accumulation as the forecast stands now.
