KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 6.18.18.
TODAY: Temperatures will be seasonable in the upper 80s and low 90s, with more sunshine. A few clouds and spotty showers will develop this afternoon east of the I-27 corridor. These storms will be non-severe, but a brief downpour and lightning is possible in isolated spots. Tonight, we stay humid and mild overnight in the upper 60s and low 70s.
TOMORROW: Tuesday will be mostly sunny with highs near average again in the upper 80s and low 90s. The forecast high in Lubbock is 90 degrees. There is a 10% chance of spotty afternoon thunderstorms, this time favoring the northwest South Plains. These will likely be non-severe with low rainfall totals.
THIS WEEK: Rain chances remain in the forecast through Thursday, with the greatest chance Wednesday night as a weak front moves through the South Plains. The region will dry out and warm up just in time for the summer solstice. Summer officially begins Thursday, and the weekend ahead looks warm in the mid to upper 90s with sunshine.
