KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 6.19.18.

TODAY: The forecast high today is 92 degrees, with upper 80s and low 90s likely across the South Plains. The day will be mostly sunny and humid, with an isolated shower possible in the northwest corner of our area. Lubbock will most likely stay dry today. Temperatures tonight will fall to the low 70s and it will still be humid.

TOMORROW: We are watching a front that will move into the panhandle Wednesday morning. This front will move south through the day and bring a 20% chance of rain to the South Plains Wednesday evening. Thunderstorms on Wednesday will be spotty, but some may have the potential for small to about quarter sized hail. Temperatures will reach the low 90s ahead of this front, and drop about 5 degrees behind it.

LOOKING AHEAD: There is a 10% chance of lingering showers on Thursday, which is also the summer solstice. After that, we will gradually heat up through the weekend. We may be near the triple digits by Saturday, for now the forecast is 99 degrees. Plan a pool day or a way to cool down this weekend!
