KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 6.4.18.
TODAY: Morning rain left this morning cool and humid. Expect clearing today with sunshine in the afternoon and a high temperature of 93 in Lubbock. Highs region wide will be in the upper 80s and low 90s. After the complex of storms overnight Sunday, the atmosphere is stable. If we get enough heating and instability in the eastern South Plains, off the Caprock, we may see an isolated storm. Confidence is low, but if any storms develop they could become severe.
TOMORROW: We are on dryline watch on Tuesday. There is a 10% chance of thunderstorms Tuesday evening for the eastern South Plains. Before that, temperatures will be in the upper 90s and low 100s. The forecast for Lubbock is 102 degrees with southeast winds 10-15 mph.
THIS WEEK: Most of the week is trending dry with triple digits through Friday. We are watching for more clouds and perhaps a few thunderstorms by Thursday. As always, we will keep you advised.
