KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 6.6.18.

TODAY: A hot and mostly sunny day is in store. The forecast high for Lubbock is 104 degrees, and expect triple digits for most of the South Plains today. The wind will be light from the southwest. A few clouds are possible this afternoon, but significant precipitation is not likely today.

TOMORROW: We will still be hot Thursday, but there is a greater chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. The forecast is 103 in Lubbock with mostly sunny conditions. In the afternoon there is a 10% chance of spotty showers and thunder area wide. The severe weather threat is low, at a marginal risk for the central and eastern South Plains. Stay with KAMC for severe weather coverage.

LOOKING AHEAD: The week will end on a hot note at 100 in Lubbock Friday. But, the ridge of high pressure keeping our temperatures high will gradually weaken this weekend. We will remain above average in the mid to upper 90s through early next week, but likely stay below the triple digits.
