TODAY: Through most of the afternoon, expect sunshine and temperatures making it to the mid 90s. The forecast high in Lubbock today is 97 degrees. Today there is a 20% chance of thunderstorms, with a low level severe weather threat. This activity will be in the later evening into the overnight hours, favoring the western South Plains. There is a threat for hail over an inch in diameter and wind gusts over 58 mph as well as heavy rain. Timing will be likely between 7 pm to 3 am.
TOMORROW: The sky will clear out Saturday morning and rain chances will be less than 10%. For the Texas Tech baseball game at 2 pm, expect mostly sunny conditions and temperatures in the mid 90s. The forecast high in Lubbock tomorrow is 96 degrees.
LOOKING AHEAD: The rain chances return Sunday with a 10% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures will stay in the mid 90s Sunday into early next week. We are trending mostly dry for the beginning half of next week as well.
