KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 7.26.18.

TODAY: Cold front day! There is a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms for the South Plains today, as a front moves from north to south across the region through the afternoon. Rainfall totals will be common between 0.10″ to 0.25″ with isolated spots up to 1″.  Temperatures will range in the mid 80s to low 90s. The forecast high for Lubbock is 91 degrees today, with the greatest chance of rain in the afternoon for the Hub City.

TOMORROW: Cooler and cloudy conditions are likely Friday, behind the cold front. Temperatures will reach the mid 80s to low 90s, at 90 degrees in Lubbock. The sky will gradually clear, but there is still a lingering rain chance at 10%. In general, the atmosphere will begin to stabilize and the sky will clear through the start of the weekend.

THIS WEEKEND: Saturday will be the warmest day of the weekend at 96 degrees in Lubbock, with partly cloudy sky conditions and high humidity. Sunday will be slightly cooler at 93 degrees and partly cloudy. Another front is expected to impact the region by Monday morning, we have kept an isolated rain chance for Sunday night in case the front speeds up.
