KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 7.27.18.
TODAY: There is still an isolated shower and thunderstorm possible this afternoon, at a 10% chance. The clouds will gradually clear from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy. The high for Lubbock today will be 91 degrees, with upper 80s for the northern South Plains, up to mid 90s south. The winds will be light today from the southeast.
THIS WEEKEND: A big warm up is in store for the weekend ahead. Both Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will reach the upper 90s. There should be plenty of sunshine between partly cloudy conditions. There is an slight chance of thunderstorms Sunday night ahead of an incoming cold front.
NEXT WEEK: The next cold front arrives Monday, with a 20% chance of rain associated with that system. Temperatures will start in the upper 80s next week with cloudy conditions. By mid-week, temperatures will go back to the mid 90s.
