KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 7.30.18.

TODAY: A cold front moved through the South Plains this morning, leaving behind cooler temperatures and clouds today. The forecast for Lubbock is 86 degrees. Most of the South Plains will be in the 80s today with partly cloudy conditions. There is a 10% chance of more thunderstorms this afternoon through the overnight hours. This will favor the southern half of the region as well as eastern New Mexico. Storms that develop between Lubbock and Midland have the potential for hail. We will keep you advised on any severe weather threats.

TOMORROW: By Tuesday we will gradually clear up, with a few stray showers still possible. We have a 10% chance of showers for Lubbock. The entire region will still feel below average temperatures, in the mid to upper 80s. Winds will be from the east 5-10 mph and the sky will be partly cloudy.

THIS WEEK: Temperatures slowly warm back up to the 90s by mid week, with mid 90s on the forecast this weekend. Slight rain chances linger through Thursday, with low areal coverage. Keep checking with KAMC Storm Team weather for updates on rain chances. Have a great week!
