KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 7.5.18.
TODAY: Expect a change in the wind… literally, not metaphorically! Our wind flow will be from the east and persist that way for the next coming days. In general, that brings in more humidity, increases our rain chances, and allows temperatures to stay cooler. Today expect partly cloudy conditions with a high of 90 degrees in Lubbock. There is an isolated rain chance, most likely between Seminole and Snyder this afternoon.
TOMORROW: Better rain chances are in store Friday, with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms. These will be spotty and weak in nature, with brief heavy rain and gusty wind possible. The severe weather threat is very low. Temperatures Friday will remain in the upper 80s and low 90s for the South Plains.
THIS WEEKEND: The easterly wind continues into this weekend. There is a 10% chance of rain each day with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. Temperatures will stay in the upper 80s and 90s. Rain should not be widespread or last long enough to ruin outdoor plans, so head outside and enjoy the weather!
