KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 7.9.18.
TODAY: Below average temperatures continue to begin this week! Highs today will be in the 80s, with a few possible low 90s east of the caprock. The forecast for Lubbock is 88 degrees. The sky will be partly cloudy with puffy cumulus clouds, and some of those may develop into spotty showers and thunderstorms. We are keeping a 10% chance of a stray shower for the region today, favoring the southern half of the South Plains. Winds, still easterly, will take storms from east to west through the afternoon and evening.
TOMORROW: Tuesday should be very similar to Monday, with temperatures in the South Plains in the 80s and low 90s. There is another 10% chance of spotty showers in the afternoon.
THIS WEEK: By Wednesday and through the weekend, we will warm up again. Temperatures will stay in the mid 90s for the week ahead and the sky will become more sunny.
