TODAY: 90s return to the South Plains today. Temperatures should range between 90-95 degrees this afternoon, with 93 in the forecast for Lubbock. The sky will stay mostly clear and winds will be light from the southeast. Storms are possible tonight, with a 20% chance in Lubbock, with the best chance for the west and northwest South Plains. Storms will initiate along the state line near Clovis and Friona around dinner-time, then a strong jet stream will carry the storms southeast through the overnight, ending by around 1 am. Timing for Lubbock is after sunset. Some storms may have strong winds and heavy downpours, with an isolated severe thunderstorm possible. Stay with KAMC for severe weather updates.

TOMORROW: Thursday will be partly cloudy, with gradual clearing conditions. Temperatures will be very similar to today, with low to mid 90s expected for the region. The forecast high in Lubbock is 93 degrees.

THIS WEEKEND: A warm and mostly sunny weekend is ahead. Temperatures will be in the mid 90s into next week. It’s time to plan last minute summer activities before school begins.
