KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 8.14.18.
TODAY: Today we say hello again to the 90s. The forecast for Lubbock is 92 degrees today, which is right on average. South Plains temperatures will range between about 90-95 degrees. There is a 10% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, but impacts should be minimal from this activity.
TOMORROW: Lubbock ISD is back to school! In the morning, conditions will be humid and mild at 70 degrees heading to school. Temperatures will be summer-like in the afternoon, up to 95 in Lubbock. There is another 10% chance of spotty afternoon showers.
LOOKING AHEAD: For the rest of the week, the weather pattern remains calm with rain chances less than 10% and temperatures in the mid 90s. A slight cool down and a more unsettled weather pattern returns this weekend. There is a 10% chance of showers Saturday and 20% chance Sunday. This weekend will be partly cloudy and warm in the low 90s.
