KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 9.12.18.
TODAY: A warm and seasonable day is ahead. The forecast high is 86 degrees in Lubbock, with mid 80s likely all across the South Plains. The sky will be mostly sunny with a few clouds. Winds will be light from the south today.
TOMORROW: The forecast continues to stay warm, but near average on Thursday. Expect a high of 87 degrees and a mostly sunny sky. In general, for our area, add on a degree or two from Wednesday temperatures. High pressure will keep the region dry to wrap up this week.
THIS WEEKEND: Friday looks similar to Thursday, at 87 degrees, but will gradual increasing cloud cover. There is an unorganized low pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico that the Storm Team is watching closely. If this develops into a tropical depression or maybe a tropical storm, it may bring heavy rainfall to south Texas. The impacts for us should be minimal, with a 20% chance of isolated rain showers Saturday and a 10% chance Sunday. Temperatures will stay seasonable in the mid 80s this weekend.
