KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 9.21.18.

TODAY: Rain chances gradually decrease through the afternoon today, but the sky will stay mostly cloudy. Temperatures will be much cooler this afternoon, in the low 70s, which is about 10 degrees below average. Expect spotty showers off and on today on the Caprock, with the potential for heavy rain in the eastern zones through mid-day. Winds will be breezy from the northeast.

THIS WEEKEND: The sky clears up nicely this weekend, but temperatures will struggle to warm higher than the 70s. There is a 10% chance of rain Saturday, with partly cloudy skies, and a high of 75 degrees. Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

NEXT WEEK: 80s return to the region next week with plenty of sunshine, at least through Tuesday. Another front will likely move into our area Tuesday night into Wednesday. This front looks more dry than the one we are seeing today, bringing only a slight dip in temperatures.
